Masterclass #1 (13.52 - 14.37)

Combining Digitalization & Sustainability: AI products as a necessary accelerator for the energy transition and a smart driver for Sustainability

Today every strategy of every almost every big company includes digitalization and sustainability, but most of them look at it as two separate topics. Here we outline how AI products can be shaped to serve both and to make AI products ecologically beneficial rather than simply intelligent. We use the example of a vegetation management product that uses computer vision.

Masterclass FOCUS #1 - Technical challenges for humans in the underwater environment (13.52 - 14.37)

Man is evolutionarily adapted to his surrounding environment. Underwater, human physiology sets the limits, but technology creates the possibilities. What is required of the equipment that will keep us alive underwater? What opportunities can technology give us to survive in an environment we are not adapted to?

In this master class, Swedish Armed Forces engineer Mårten Silvanius talks about the challenges that technology and people face in the underwater domain.

Interview #3: AI and automation in the train industry, today and in the future (15.28 - 15.48)

  • Devoteam has built a maintenance platform for train traffic for Alstom (previously Bombardier). Tell us more about how this platform works!
  • What kind of choices in terms of tech stack and techniques have you made while building and why did you make them?
  • How did you implement machine learning on the platform? Something many want to have, but few actually work with for real yet.
  • What kind of challenges have you faced when building this platform and in particular related to machine learning?
  • One thing I can imagine is quite difficult to predict is unforeseen problems that can arise. Continuous maintenance might be easier, but what about difficult weather conditions – how can you predict such difficult problems with the help of machine learning?
  • How does the future look for maintenance platforms such as these and machine learning in general? Applicable in other domains as well?

Is it reasonable to demand that those working in Sweden should be able to speak Swedish? Should it be required for them to be Swedish citizens?

Today we have engineers who drive taxis. How can we bring their expertise into our companies? Politics and lobbying are important components of solutions. But the companies inclusion work is also an important factor.

Discussions and questions about a topic that today needs more solutions than ever before as the lack of competence is one of our biggest challenges!

While being absolutely critical for all of our wellbeing, our current food systems at the same time contributes greatly to the challenges we face for climate, nature, circularity, and social sustainability. Delivering opportunities and solutions to address these challenges will be needed from all parts of the food value chain.

In this Masterclass, we will discuss some of the ways in which Tetra Pak works towards this. How can we, as a food processing and packaging solutions provider, ensure that more people in a growing global population can enjoy safe, affordable, and nutritious food, while at the same time minimize the environmental impacts?

Interview #4: Bosch Rexroth about opening up the design, modularity and compability with their new product CtrlX Core (16.00 - 16.20) (In Swedish)

  • Tell us more about your product CtrlX core and how it is practically breaking new ground for the user/your client? What are the new and improved features compared to your previous products?
  • What are the concrete examples of it’s uses and what for? Anything a private user potentially using it to code a program that for example runs… an everyday machine in the home(?) To a big, complex industrial system (high risk prison?)
  • Alot of other companies, like for example Apple, limits the user to a unique cable design, outlets and software, but with CtrlX core you are doing the opposite – you are opening up the design, the compability and modularity. How did you motivate that business decision and do you think we will see a shift in techonology in general where we move towards a more open playing field and a more sustainable field (easy to replace components and everything surrounding technology?)
  • How will the CtrlX core impact the market in general and what is your longterm vision with CtrlX core?

Masterclasses

Our masterclasses are lectures at a more advanced level where you get to learn about a subject in-depth, under the guidance of a recognized expert in the field. Usually, a limited topic is treated, and you get to take part in the expert’s tips and practical experiences and can ask questions.

25 people can participate in each masterclass. This means that there is room for discussions and questions. As there is a limited number of places, we are happy if you cancel your place if you can not use it, so that someone else has a chance to take part in the master class.

The masterclasses will be presented shortly and published regularly on our social channels – do not miss to follow us there! If you have any questions, get in touch with us by email, and we will help you!

Once we have determined which masterclasses will be in the program, you will be able to book them at the same time as receiving headphones and programs at check-in.

Film and photos from Engineer Day 2022

How it works

Engineer Day is a so-called silent event – a concept where you use headphones with several channels to listen to various interesting lectures and discussions.
The room is divided into different areas where there is the opportunity to network, attend exclusive masterclasses, listen to live podcasts and hear interesting discussions at the main stage.

How the headphones work

The programme contains different events, some of which run in parallel. You get headphones so you can listen in simultaneously. If you take off your headphones, you show that you are open to conversation.

The headphone is switched on by pressing both the orange buttons on the back of the headphone simultaneously for about 3 seconds. The same goes for turning off the headset.

To increase the volume, press the orange button on the left side one click at a time. The volume is reduced by holding down the orange button on the left side.

To change the channels, press the orange button on the right side of the headset.

Book your free ticket

The number of tickets is limited so secure your seat before we run out of space! All events are free of charge.
I consent to Lintigroup using my personal data to register me for this event, send me updates and information about this event, and inform me about other events.
